vaginal yeast infection

vaginal yeast infection is caused by the body growing more yeast than normal in the vagina, there are a number of reasons for this.
vaginal yeast infection is caused by Candida albicans fungus, yeast are tiny organisms that live in small numbers inside the vagina.
Natural body acid of the vagina helps stop yeast growing. If the vagina becomes less acidic, too many yeast can grow and cause a vaginal infection.
The natural body acid of the vagina can be changed by your period, douche products, antibiotics (because the medication kills off the bacteria that keep the yeast under control), steroids, diabetes, the pill, and pregnancy. Moisture of the vagina also seems to encourage yeast to grow.
To stop vaginal yeast infection, wear loose underwear with a cotton crotch so the vulva doesn't get too hot as heat and moisture can encourage yeast to grow, and keep your vagina clean.
The most common symptoms of vaginal yeast infection is white vaginal discharge that looks like cottage cheese and itching of the vulva (outer lips) and the inside of the vagina.
